Numerous Thefts Reported In Lower Merion Over Past Week

LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA — Lower Merion Township Police reported numerous theft incidents in the township over roughly the past week.

May 29
Theft, Pocket Picking (Bala) - Customer had her wallet stolen from her jacket pocket while shopping. Victim describes a possible actor bumping into her multiple times while shopping.

Theft from Vehicle (Bala) - Victim had vehicle entered after shopping at the Apple Store in Ardmore. Victim stopped at multiple locations before returning home and discovering the items missing from vehicle.

Theft from Vehicle (Bala) - Victim's unlocked Honda parked in driveway entered overnight. Vehicle gone through and cash and loose change missing.

May 27
Theft from Vehicle (Merion) - Unlocked Tesla entered in the parking lot of an apartment building. Vehicle gone through and items taken.

Theft of Vehicle (Ardmore) - Mazda parked along the street in front of a residence was stolen, possibly by an actor operating a tow truck.

May 26
Attempted Theft from Vehicle and Recovered Stolen Vehicle (Overbrook) - Actors observed entering apartment complex and attempting to enter multiple vehicle. Officers arrived on scene and discovered that the vehicle the actors arrived on was reported stolen.

Attempted Theft from Vehicle (Overbrook) - Possibly related to above incident where actors approached a vehicle, tried to open doors but the vehicle owner drove away before entry could be made.

Theft from Vehicle (Merion) - Unlocked Volkswagen entered in the parking lot of a apartment building. Vehicle gone through and no known loss.

Theft from Vehicle (Penn Valley) - Unlocked Nissan parked in a driveway entered and gone through overnight.

May 24
Theft, Pocket Picketing (Ardmore) - Customer had her wallet removed from purse while eating at a local restaurant.

Theft, Pocket Picketing (Bryn Mawr) - Nurse had her wallet removed from her purse while working at local hospital.
