Police Blotter: Scuffle in District Court Sends Suspect Back to Jail
Warned to contain verbal outbursts, a Bryn Mawr man refused and had to be restrained by local police.

Repeated warnings to contain verbal outbursts were no good in a magisterial district court hearing on Cricket Avenue last week, when the defendant had to be restrained after profanity laced outbursts and an in-court scuffle with local police.
Scott Cohen, a 20-year-old Bryn Mawr resident had been previously arrested for alleged trespassing. While in court for a preliminary hearing on Feb. 3, the judge warned the suspect to control verbal outbursts, but he did not, according to a Lower Merion police report released on Monday, Feb. 7.
Instead, Cohen swore and moved toward the complainant, who was in the room. Police moved in to intercept the man, and a scuffle ensued, according to the police report. Cohen was eventually restrained.
