A Quick Look at Nana’s Kitchen & Catering
Not Just Another Restaurant but a Place Like Home
When Gladys Fink Senderowitsch and her family launched Nana’s Kitchen & Catering seven years ago in Narberth, Pa., her vision was to create something greater than just another restaurant.
“I was born and raised in Argentina,” said Senderowitsch, chef and owner of Nana’s Kitchen & Catering. “My husband Maxi and I raised our daughters on a kibbutz in Israel.”
When the family began building their Narberth establishment, they made sure the food reflected who they were and where they came from.

“Argentina and the Mediterranean are woven into our story and into our food,” said Senderowitsch.
Senderowitsch also highlighted a defining feature of Nana’s Kitchen & Catering.

“I’m proud to say that this is women owned and operated.”
Another distinction is that the restaurant is kosher certified through Keystone-K.
The family’s motivation for opening Nana’s Kitchen & Catering was simple: Narberth was missing a space that felt personal and welcoming.
“There was room in Narberth for a place where people could gather comfortably and feel at home,” said Senderowitsch.
Senderowitsch said she will always remember and be grateful for the Narberth community, particularly during challenging times. The events of October 7th 2023 deeply affected many people around the world, and for her family the impact was especially personal. Close family members, Iair and his younger brother Eitu, were kidnapped and held in underground tunnels by Hamas terrorists for two years — an unimaginably painful experience.
During that time, there was also a rise in tensions affecting Jewish communities in many places. Their shop was vandalized with antisemitic graffiti that felt targeted and hurtful, and seeing it on their storefront was difficult. What followed, however, was deeply meaningful. Volunteers quickly removed the graffiti, and the family received an outpouring of support from neighbors throughout Narberth: Jewish and non-Jewish alike. The response reinforced their belief in the strength and kindness of their local community.
Even during challenging moments, the family continues to lead with respect, openness, and a commitment to bringing people together.
Giving Back
Nana’s Kitchen & Catering provides school lunch programs featuring fresh, nutritious meals.
“What began as a small café has grown into a broader effort to nourish families and create community connections,” said Senderowitsch. “We continue to host local artists, cultural programs, and neighborhood gatherings. We also welcome community members to host their own events at Nana’s - it’s truly a shared space.”
In addition to local support, Nana’s Kitchen & Catering has also earned regional recognition. This past February, The Philadelphia Inquirer nominated Nana’s Kitchen & Catering for The Philadelphia Inquirer’s Favorite Food Award. The results will be announced later this year.
