Saint Joseph's University Student Struck By Car On City Avenue

According to Lower Merion Police, the pedestrian sustained life-threatening injuries as a result of the crash and is in critical condition.

LOWER MERION, PA — A Saint Joseph's University student was struck by a vehicle and injured on City Avenue Monday night, school officials said.

The incident occurred at around 8 p.m. near the intersection with Old Lancaster Avenue. The student was taken to Lankenau Hospital after the crash. According to Lower Merion Police, the pedestrian sustained life-threatening injuries as a result of the crash and is in critical condition.

It's not yet clear what led to the accident, though the driver did remain on the scene after the crash, authorities said.

City Avenue was closed between Raynham Road and Oakland Terrace for approximately
four hours during the crash investigation, and reopened at 12:11 a.m.
