WYNNEWOOD, PA — The skies opened up on the Philadelphia region overnight Wednesday into Thursday, finally bringing a good amount of rain to the area after a long dry spell.
Storms rolled through the region, bringing rain, thunder, and lightning throughout the night.

Well, in the Lower Merion area, nearly a full inch of rain fell.

According to the National Weather Service, 0.99 inches of rain fell in Bala Cynwyd. That total was reported by a member of the Citizen Weather Observer Program.
In Wynnewood, 0.75 inches of rain were recorded via the Community Collaborative Rain, Hail and Snow Network.
And 0.59 inches were reported via the Community Collaborative Rain, Hail and Snow Network in Bryn Mawr.
The most rain in Montgomery County was recorded in both Collegeville and Jenkintown, with 1.13 inches recorded in both towns.
In the five-county region, the Stroud Water Research Center in Avondale, Chester County, had the most rain with 1.6 inches recorded.
