Serial Armed Robbers Hit Delco, Montco, Philly Businesses: Report

LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA — Authorities in the suburbs and Philadelphia are looking for two men they believe are responsible for a string of armed robberies.

Action News reports the two are sought in connection with two armed robberies in Lower Merion, one in Upper Darby, and six in Philadelphia.

The two Lower Merion robberies occurred on Dec. 17 and Dec. 19, 2022.

On the evening of Dec. 17, 2022, two men came into Haze Smoke Shop at 185 W. City Ave.

They demanded the clerk hand over cash from the register.

One of the men implied that he had a handgun in his pocket.

They fled Northbound on City Avenue, heading to Oakland Terrace.

Then at about 9:55 p.m. on Dec. 19, 2022, men came into Insomnia Cookies at 199 W. City Ave.

One of the men was armed with a handgun.

They demanded cash from the register, but the business does not use cash and does not have a register.

They left the area, going south on City Avenue.

• Rite Aid - 731 Woodland Avenue, Philadelphia - 9:12 p.m., Jan. 6, 2023

• Rite Aid - 136 N. 63rd Street, Philadelphia - 8:32 p.m., Jan. 11, 2023

• Natural Shoe Store - 226 S. 40th Street, Philadelphia - 3:30 p.m., Feb. 12, 2023

• Rite Aid - 4641 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia - 7:22 p.m., Feb. 13, 2023

• Walgreens - 300 N. 63rd Street, Philadelphia - 9:50 p.m., Feb. 15, 2023
