Browsing the Main Line Reform Temple's Holiday Bazaar

Some 50 vendors, including charities and service organizations, enjoyed good crowds Sunday and Monday at the  Holiday Bazaar, staged by the volunteers of the synagogue's Sisterhood organization. 

Debbie Schwartz, co-organizer, said it was a return for the holiday shopping bazaar after an absence of a few years.

"We wanted to do it because it's just a good community builder within the temple and outside in the general, surrounding communities," she said. "We also wanted to show this year that there are lots of different ways that you can give gifts. Besides purchasing a physical item, we had lot of charities, so people could donate money, and time. That could be a gift for yourself or somebody else."

There were eight charities as part of the event, perhaps coincidentally the number of nights that Hanukkah is celebrated. There were also gift certificates from local service vendors available, and during the bazaar on Sunday, there were cooking demonstrations. 

Steffanie Naiberg, another co-organizer, said she was pleased with the return of the bazaar, and that there was "a great turnout."

Along with charity opportunities, tables overflowed with jewelry, toys, women’s and children’s clothing, housewares and stationery, and plenty of food.
