St Patty's DUI Crackdown Underway In Lower Merion

Police will be out in force looking for anyone who celebrates St. Patrick's Day too much then gets behind the wheel to stop DUI.

LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA — St. Patrick's Day is nearly here, and that means many will be celebrating with libations. However, Lower Merion Police will be out in force to ensure no one is driving under the influence as the often beer-laden holiday begins.

From now through March 17, Lower Merion Police will conduct Impaired Driving Roving Patrols throughout the township.

Police will be cracking down on DUI in partnership with a national impaired driving crackdown featuring intensified, highly visible enforcement activities using the tagline “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over."

The focus will be on finding motorists who are operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or controlled substances.

Roving Patrol Details are funded by a PennDOT grant and are one of many tools used to increase public safety through increased awareness created by high profile enforcement.
