Travel To The 1800s At Merion Friends History Festival
The May 20 event will transport guests back to the early to mid 1800s where they will see demonstrations, period clothing, and more.

MERION STATION, PA – Area residents can go back to the 1800s this weekend without having a DeLorean time machine. The Merion Friends Meeting, the Lower Merion Historical Society and the Lower Merion Conservancy have partnered to host the Merion Friends Meeting History Festival where guests will get a peek into life in the 1820s to the 1860s.
Experience the life of Quakers back in the 1800s with clothing displays, blacksmith demonstrations, meeting house tours, see Underground Railroad exhibits, and much more.
The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, May 20 at the Merion Friends Meeting House, 615 Montgomery Ave., Merion Station.

The festival is free to attend.
Not only will guests get to see Quaker life, they will be able to enjoy period foods, play games and do crafts that are period specific, have silhouette portraits made, ride on horse-drawn carriages, and interact with historical re-enactors, among many other activities.

Other partnering groups for the festival area Harriton Plantation of Bryn Mawr, Lower Merion Society for the Detection and Prosecution of Horse Thieves, Township of Lower Merion, and Philadelphia Yearly Meeting.
