Montco Man Dies In Schuylkill Expressway Hit And Run Sunday: PSP

Pennsylvania State Police said a Philadelphia man struck a tow truck driver Sunday night and fled the scene. He's facing felony charges now.

LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA – A Philadelphia man is in custody after allegedly hitting and killing a tow truck driver on the Schuylkill Expressway in Lower Merion Township Sunday night, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Emmanuel Doxy, 35, of Philadelphia, is facing charges of felony homicide by vehicle, felony accidents involving death, reckless driving, failing to report the accident to police, and related crimes, court records show.

Doxy is accused of hitting and killing Michael House, 32, of Montgomery County, as House was assisting a disabled vehicle in his job as a tow truck operator on Interstate 76 near the Belmont Avenue exit in Lower Merion at about 9 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 28, state police said.

Doxy allegedly struck House and continued driving east on I-76, but police said witness descriptions of Doxy's Ford F-150 led troopers to locate him at his home in Philadelphia, where he was taken into custody without incident.

The towing company, K&S Towing, is based in Havertown.

Doxy's preliminary hearing is set for Feb. 8, according to court records.
