Viewfinder: Run With the Aces

The Aces are on the run.

This week we trained our lens on the first track meet of the season to get an early look at Lower Merion High's runners.

Track has its early origin as a game back in the 7th Century, BCE.  In the 1860s, it was introduced as a college sport in the USA.  By the 1920s it had been widely adopted across the nation.

A sprinter who can run 100 yards in 10 seconds is traveling at a rate of three minutes per mile.  That is fast.  A runner who competes in a 3200 meter race is running just under two miles at a pace much faster than jogging.
