Lower Merion, PA -- Lower Merion held its annual National Night Out celebrations Wednesday, and a very special guest stopped by to join in the fun.

The Phillie Phanatic, captured in the video below from the Lower Merion Police Department, was fake-arrested, and joined in on the fun and games with participants throughout the evening.

The event is part of a national series dedicated to uniting police and the community in the fight against crime and drugs.

Due to construction planned at Suburban Square, the event is not being held in August, as it has in past years, the township said. It is held in other townships throughout the area during that month.

Features of the night included carnival rides, games, child fingerprinting, a giant slide, live music, a moonbounce, clowns, food, and much more.
