Woman Critical After Being Struck On Lancaster Avenue In Wynnewood

A woman who was crossing Lancaster Avenue in the middle of the block was struck by a vehicle Monday afternoon in Wynnewood, police said.

WYNNEWOOD, PA — A woman is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle on Lancaster Avenue in Wynnewood Monday afternoon.

According to Lower Merion Township Police, the incident occurred at about 4:25 p.m. on the 300 block of East Lancaster Avenue.

Police said a light green Mazda 3 was heading west on Lancaster Avenue.

A woman was crossing the road from the south side to the north side in the middle of the block, according to police.

The Mazda struck the woman, police said.

She was taken to Lankenau Hospital, where she is in critical but stable condition, according to police.

Police said the driver stayed at the scene.

Authorities are investigating the crash.

Lancaster Avenue was closed for about two-and-a-half hours as a result of the crash.
