NARBERTH, PA — A new retailer bringing a crafty, modernized twist to small-town general stores plans to open in Narberth later this month.
Jeneral Store's grand opening will take place Friday, Oct. 16 at 104 Forrest Ave.
The business will be a "modern take on the traditional general store — the heart of small-town life where utility, quality, and community intersect," according to Jeneral Store's website.
Founder by Narberth resident Jennifer Kurland, Jeneral Store is seeking to become a welcoming "third place" for community members to create and connect.
The store will also hold drop-in crafts, workshops, and have featured DIY projects that can be made in-store or at home. Products will include flowers, home goods and vintage finds.
Proceeds will support LGBTQ+ advocacy, the business says.
The space was last occupied by Danny's Guitar Shop, which was in business for 17 years until owner Dan Gold retired. The shop closed in May.
Jeneral Store's grand-opening weekend is set for Oct. 16-18. Further details and timing will be revealed soon, the business said on social media.
"Consider this your open invitation to come shop, explore, and celebrate with us all weekend long," the post says. "Stop in to build a fresh bouquet at the floral bar, browse our curated and vintage goods, and experience your new neighborhood gathering space."
