Armed Robber Hits Bala Cynwyd Pet Valu: Police

The suspect used a screwdriver in the Sunday afternoon robbery, police said.

BALA CYNWYD, PA – Lower Merion Police are reporting a pet store in Bala Cynwyd was victim to an armed robbery over the weekend. Police said the suspect was armed with a screwdriver.

The robbery occurred at about 12:40 p.m. Sunday, May 21, at Pet Valu in the Bala Cynwyd Shopping Center in Bala Cynwyd.

According to police, the suspect entered the store and asked for change.

when the clerk opened the register, the suspect reached over and grabbed cash while pointing a screwdriver at the clerk, police said.

The suspect was last seen running north through the shopping center parking lot, police said.

He is described as a black male in his 30s who was wearing gray pants, a white shirt, and a blue bandana, police said.
