Bala Cynwyd, Belmont Hills Branches Celebrating National Library Week
Bala Cynwyd will have a Wednesday evening event. Belmont Hills' is Saturday afternoon.
The Lower Merion libraries are celebrating National Library Week April 10 through April 16 with this year’s theme of “Create Your Own Story @ Your Library.”
“First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the country each April,” according to a township news release. “It is a time to celebrate the contributions of our nation’s libraries and librarians and promote library use and support.”
On Wednesday, kids ages four and older can see children’s comedian “The Great Holtzie” at the at 7 p.m., according to the flyer. Registration is required, either in the library’s junior room or via phone.

is hosting the 17th Annual Poetry Contest Poet’s Party at 3 p.m. Saturday. The event will be held in the Board Room of the , 75 E. Lancaster Ave. in Ardmore. Kids who entered the contest can celebrate as winners will have their poems read aloud and receive awards, the flyer states. Light refreshments will be served.
All week at the , patrons can enter a drawing for a free book at every check-out. Entries are limited to one per person per day, according to a flyer announcing the event. The drawing will take place at 4 p.m. Friday.

Kids can make their own books at the at “The Story of Me” event at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
