Bala Cynwyd Burglary Suspect Arrested In New York City

A man suspected of breaking into a City Avenue store earlier this month was arrested by NYPD and NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force.

BALA CYNWYD, PA — A man breaking into a Bala Cynwyd store earlier this month, according to police.

Andrew Joyner, 35, of New York, was arrested Feb. 20 in New York City by members of the NYPD and NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force.

Joyner and another man are accused of breaking into the AT&T store on City Avenue in Bala Cynwyd on Saturday, Feb. 8.

The burglars broke into the store by smashing out the glass front door.

After getting inside the store, the suspects stole several cell phones, police said.

The other was described as a black man wearing a hat, black jacket, black pants, and black sneakers.

Joyner is also accused of stealing from a store in Chester County, then carjacking a person with another man, Gary Dunbar, who is still wanted.

The pair led police on a short chase and were last seen traveling east on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in a gray-blue Subaru Forester.

Police said the two arrived at the mall in a black Range Rover, which has been found.

Joyner is facing robbery, possession of an instrument of crime, fleeing police, terroristic threats, and more out of West Whiteland Township.

Dunbar, 23, of New York, is still wanted on similar charges.

Additionally, he is facing charges in connection with a New Year's Day commercial burglary in Radnor Township. A woman, 41-year-old Frances Walker of New York, is wanted in connection with that incident.
