Black Lives Matter, George Floyd Vigil Planned In Narberth
Participants will kneel in silence for eight minutes and 46 seconds in remembrance of George Floyd Wednesday evening in Narberth.

NARBERTH, PA — A vigil for Black Lives Matter and George Floyd is planned for Wednesday afternoon in Narberth.
At 6 p.m. Wednesday, residents will kneel in silence for eight minutes and 46 seconds — which is how long former Minneapolis Police Office Derek Chauvin knelt on Floyd's neck before he later died — at the Narberth Park sports fields. Chauvin and three other officers are being charged in connection with Floyd's death, which was ruled homicide by asphyxiation.
Mayor Andrea Deutsch will deliver remarks before participants will kneel.

After the eight minutes and 46 seconds, participants will disperse.
Those who choose to join the vigil are urged to wear masks and observe 6 feet of distancing from others.

Anyone who does not feel comfortable joining the larger event at the park is invited to kneel for eight minutes and 46 second on their lawns or sidewalks.
The event is organized by the Narberth Civic Association.
