Charges Filed In Main Line Crash That Killed Pregnant Philadelphia Woman
Lower Merion officials said an 81-year-old Bala Cynwyd man has been charged in the death of Latoya Handy-Hunter, 36, and her unborn child.
BALA CYNWYD, PA — Three months after a pregnant Philadelphia woman and her unborn child were killed in a Bala Cynwyd crash, charges have been filed against a local man.
Lower Merion Township officials said Alan Rosenbaum, 81, of Bala Cynwyd, has been charged with summary offenses of the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code in connection with the Dec. 30, 2023 crash that killed Latoya M. Handy-Hunter, 36, of Philadelphia, and her unborn child.
Rosenbaum is charged with careless driving resulting in unintentional death, careless driving resulting in serious bodily injury, and two other vehicle violations, court documents show.

The charges stem from what authorities described as "driver error."
The crash occurred at about 2:47 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 30, 2023 on West Rock Hill Road near the intersection of Bryn Mawr Avenue in Bala Cynwyd.

Handy-Hunter and her unborn child died in the crash. Four other pedestrians were also hurt in the crash, police said. Their identities were not released.
The vehicle driven by Rosenbaum also struck two parked vehicles, police said.
After the crash, police said a physical altercation ensued, but authorities did not provide further detail on the altercation.
