Everyone is invited to a celebratory parade TOMORROW, Saturday, May 10 to honor our 100th birthday! The parade will begin at 10am at the Lower Merion Academy Building located at 506 Bryn Mawr Avenue (next to BC Middle School) and conclude at Cynwyd’s back field at approximately 11am, where a short program will take place. Chairman of the Montgomery County Board of Commissioners Josh Shaprio will be on hand to offer his congratulations, and Cynwyd will be honored with a citation presented by State Representative Mary Jo Daley.
The parade is the FINAL event in our semester-long celebration of our 100th birthday. If you haven't been part of the celebrations so far, don't miss your last chance! Principal Dr. Martino will serve as Grand Marshall. School mascot Owlbert will entertain the crowds along with the Harriton High School band, cheerleaders, Cynwyd’s Student Council, the 5th grade graduating class of 2014, the Lower Merion High School Players and six MINI Cooper convertibles carrying special guests. Stay for a picnic on the field after the parade. Food will be available for purchase from local vendors, including Tony Roni, Firinji, Ben & Jerry's and Cal's Cupcakes! The New More FM radio station (formerly B101) will be on the field providing music, face painting and balloon animals!
