Annual Japanese Fall Harvest Festival.
Aki Matsuri is a traditional fall festival in Japan that is centered around giving thanks for the harvest and wishing for good fortune for the future.
The event will include activities for all ages, including several “Make-and-Take” exhibits where guests can learn how to do Origami, make mini Chochin Lanterns, Koinobori Fish Flag Making, and Uchiwa Fans. There will also be traditional Japanese games for kids and adults, including YoYo Tsuri Balloon Fishing and a Toy Fishing game.&nbsp;On the main stage, throughout the afternoon there will be Taiko Drumming, traditional Japanese Bon music and dancing, as well as Karaoke, and a Cosplay contest. Japanese food offerings will be brought to you by Maido!, as well as Oiishi Shushi and Ramen, and Matcha Café Maiko.ADMISSION IS $10, Children 12 and Under are Free; Activities such as the Make-and-Take, children’s games, and food are pay-as-you-go.

Seating is the primary focus, with numerous sets and pairs of upholstered bar chairs, bar stools, dining chairs, and molded plastic seating. Styles range from contemporary and industrial to Mid-Century Modern inspired designs. Many examples feature grey or light-colored upholstery paired with black metal frames, while others incorporate curved wood or wood-veneer backrests, tubular frames, sled bases, tapered legs, and integrated footrests.
The auction also includes numerous coordinated bar-height and café table sets. Tables feature wood, white laminate, and faux marble tops paired with black, chrome, brushed metal, or black-and-brass pedestal and frame designs. Several larger industrial-style high-top tables measure approximately six feet long and are accompanied by matching or complementary stools, while smaller round pedestal tables provide options for café, restaurant, and hospitality seating arrangements.
Commercial fixtures include three reception counters or desks, including modular and faux marble designs with storage cabinetry, raised transaction surfaces, decorative trim, and contemporary finishes. These pieces complement the broader selection of contract-style seating and tables.
With 40 lots largely devoted to coordinated commercial seating and tables, the sale provides an opportunity to acquire chairs in multiples rather than individually. Offerings range from four-chair dining and bar sets to pairs of stools, complete café arrangements, high-top table-and-stool combinations, reception furniture, and individual tables.
The catalog is particularly well suited to restaurants, cafés, bars, offices, waiting areas, event spaces, and other commercial interiors, with many chairs offered in matching sets.

33 Years and Still Going Strong – The Pennsylvania National Quilt Extravaganza Returns to the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center September 17 – 20, 2026Oaks, PA – Mancuso Show Management is proud to present the 33rd annual Pennsylvania National Quilt Extravaganza. The Greater Philadelphia Expo Center will host this spectacular event September 17 - September 20, 2026 featuring over 1000 works of textile art. Additionally, the festival offers vendors, hands on workshops, lectures, a fashion show and product demos. Pennsylvania National Quilt Extravaganza is the center of it all for quilt, wearable and textile art! A highlight of this year’s event is a special exhibition by 7-time Tony Award-winning actor and playwright Harvey Fierstein. Best known for writing La Cage aux Folles and Kinky Boots and starring as Edna in Hairspray, Harvey has been making quilts for more than 30 years. During the COVID lockdown, his passion for quilting flourished, inspiring a remarkable collection of quilt art that the Extravaganza is thrilled to premiere. In addition, the festival will display over 30 special exhibitions from regional guilds such as the Philadelphia Modern Quilt Guild, PieceMakers Quilters and the Sankofa Artisans, travelling quilt collections and the annual national judged competition. Once again Mancuso Show Management sponsored the juried exhibition, Celebration of Women: A Quilter’s Perspective with a portion of the entry fees going to A Woman’s Place (AWP), the only domestic violence community benefit organization in Bucks County, PA. Shopping is a must at the event Merchant’s Mall with a diverse assortment of vendors selling sewing machines, fabric, wool, clothing, notions and more. Attendees can sit in on, at no additional charge, several midday lectures and product demonstrations. Back by popular demand are Fashion Friday, an attendee-driven fashion show, and Sticker Saturday, where collecting stickers can earn you a prize. New this year, the Brandywine Rug Hooking Guild will offer rug hooking demonstrations throughout the event. Quilters and textile artists can also preregister for workshops taught by a nationally recognized faculty. <a href="https://phillyfringe.org/events/baggage-from-baghdad-becoming-my-fathers-daughter/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Baggage From BaghDAD: Becoming My Father’s Daughter</a> is a gripping, award-winning solo show that is timely as it mirrors today's growing intolerance of race and religion in our own backyards and worldwide, written and performed by Valerie David. Due to religious persecution during the 1941 “Farhud pogrom,” Valerie’s paternal Middle Eastern Jewish family was forced to flee Iraq and build a new home in America.

This play highlights her family’s struggle to immigrate to a new land and transcend their harrowing past, so that love and the importance of family triumph. Valerie states, “It’s not just a Jewish story, but a narrative that anyone can relate to: having to immigrate to another country, being forced to evacuate during wartime, suffering bullying, and the ramifications of having to adapt to a foreign culture that’s not so welcoming.”

Baggage From BaghDAD finds humor and hope, even in the darkest of times. It recounts how this painful legacy shaped Valerie’s own life and her evolving relationship with her father, uncovering a story of survival, identity, and ultimately, reconciliation.

Alderfer Auction is expanding its local presence with the opening of a new satellite sales office in Wayne, PA, starting Wednesday, October 7th.
Located at 303 West Lancaster Ave, Suite 2C (above The UPS Store), the office will be open weekly on Wednesdays from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
