Flooding Closes I-76 Exit In Bala Cynwyd

A flood warning remains in effect until early evening.

BALA CYNWYD, PA — Flooding has closed an exit Monday afternoon on Interstate 76 in Bala Cynwyd.

I-76 West's ramp to Exit 339 is closed as of this writing. The ramp, which connects to Route 1 South/City Ave., has been shut down since flooding rain moved through the area earlier in the day.

The late-morning storms brought 2 to 5 inches of rain to the Philadelphia area.

A flood warning for the region is in effect until 6:15 p.m. The National Weather Service doesn't expect additional rain during that period, but flooding impacts will continue.

Areas near rivers and creeks are especially susceptible. The flooded stretch of I-76 is near the Schuylkill River and Wissahickon Creek.
