The InterSchool Council (ISC) is pleased to welcome back Dr. Tara Doaty to present "Equity 101: An Educational Workshop" on Tuesday, October 27 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Join us for an enlightening conversation on increasing awareness of implicit and explicit bias, decreasing bias, and creating safe spaces to learn and engage in conversations using inclusive, person-centered language. If Dr. Doaty's name sounds familiar, she is Lower Merion School District's cultural competency consultant and was the ISC facilitator at "Equity: A Community Call To Action" in April, 2019. Dr. Tara Doaty is the cultural competency consultant for LMSD, and leads the monthly CARE (Committee to Address Race in Education) meetings, to administrators, teachers, staff and community members. The next CARE meeting is Wednesday, October 28, 4:00 - 5:30pm on Zoom. Her work focuses on building knowledge, skills and leadership in the areas of racial literacy, cultural proficiency; equity & inclusion, and ways to build bridges that celebrate diversity. Dr. Doaty is the founder and lead mental health consultant of the Sage Wellness Group in Baltimore, Maryland.
