Lower Merion Library System now offers Kanopy, a free streaming movie service. Kanopy provides thousands of independent, instructional and documentary films that include substance with social and cultural value from the Criterion Collection, The Great Courses, as well as thousands of independent titles. Browse the topics to find videos on Early Film, Ethnicity & Identity, Photography, Career Development, Leadership Training, Teacher Education Development, English As a Second Language, Art, Science and more. There are also recent, popular, mainstream, movies such as What We Do In The Shadows, Beanpole or The Professor and the Madman.

Kanopy also offers a kid friendly collection. It’s great for parents, caregivers, and educators too since Kanopy Kids uses the rating system from Common Sense Media. Children’s categories include TV series, Learning Languages, Animated Storybooks, Anime Favorites, and classic films for the whole family. Here you have unlimited plays so your kids are free to explore enriching, educational and entertaining content. The Kanopy app is available for iOS, Android, and Roku. You may also watch with Chromecast, Apple TV and other TV applications.

Please note there is a current borrow limit of 5 titles per month for adult materials and unlimited for children’s content. This resource is offered to LMLS resident card holders. If you need to replace a lost or stolen library card please contact your local Lower Merion library regarding a replacement.
