Masked students and parents recently braved the end-of-summer heat as they gathered beneath a giant outdoor tent for a "Back-to-School Meet & Greet" with newly hired Bala Cynwyd Middle School principal Dr. Amy Jenkins.

Throughout the evening, Dr. Jenkins - along with assistant principals Jeff Hunter and Christine Fleming - made the rounds getting to know all of the members of the BCMS community who came out for the event. The occasion also served as an opportunity for students and parents to chat and reconnect before the start of the school year on September 9, 2021.

The LMSD Board the of School Directors approved the appointment of Dr. Jenkins as principal of Bala Cynwyd Middle School on August 16, 2021. Dr. Jenkins succeeds Sarah Stout, who was named principal for the new middle school earlier this summer.
Dr. Jenkins has served as an Assistant Principal and Supervisor of Online Learning for the Unionville Chadds-Ford School District since 2015. Prior to that, she was an Assistant Principal and Dean of Academics and Academic Development in the Penn Delco School District, where she had also served as an Instructional Technology Coach and where she began her educational career as a 6th grade Language Arts teacher.
Dr. Jenkins received her Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education from West Chester University, her Master of Education degree from Penn State, her Administrative Certification from Cabrini College and her Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction from West Chester.
