START: The START program helps support students that are struggling in any area. START stands for "Student Assistance Referral Team." It could be that you feel lonely and don't feel like you fit in. It could be that you are worried about one of your friends. Maybe you know of someone who is experimenting with drugs or alcohol. Or do you have a friend that says that he or she wants to harm himself or herself or someone else? The START team can help! There are START boxes in the counseling office and in the library where you can submit a referral if you have a concern about a friend or yourself. These referrals can be anonymous if you choose. You can also share your concerns with a trusted adult, such as your parent or guardian, your school counselor, or a faculty member. The START program is just one of the many safety nets that we offer to help support all of our students.
