Lower Merion School District: LMHS Swimmers Excel At Central League Championships

The Lower Merion High School boys and girls swimming teams recently competed in the Central Athletic League (CAL) Championships where they finished third and fifth overall, respectively, and collected an impressive nine top-three finishes in individual and relay events.

Grady Gardner was the sole individual champion as he captured first place in 1-meter diving while teammate Josh Sultanik finished in second place in the 100-meter freestyle.

For the girls, Alexa Conner, Allison Stewart, Elishka Bailey and Annika Naveen rallied together to win silver in the 200-meter Medley Relay while both Naveen and Stewart also earned individual silver medals in the 50-meter freestyle and the 100-meter breaststroke, respectively.

Back on the boys squad, a bronze medal in the 200-meter Medley Relay went to Max Forster, Liam Keating, Matthew Thomas and Josh Sultanik, while Aaron Levine, Jordan Mandelbaum, Phillip Gao and Sultanik claimed a third-place finish of their own in the 400-meter Freestyle Relay. Both Sultanik (50-meter Freestyle) and Keating (100-meter Breaststroke) each finished in third-place in their individual events.
