Equity and Inclusion Audit Subcommittee Task Force

The focus of the Achievement Imperative Task Force's Equity and Inclusion Audit Subcommittee is researching and recommending an approach for conducting an equity audit, as well as suggesting focus areas for the audit to the School Board's Ad Hoc Committee on Equity and Anti-Racism. The District is inviting 2-3 parents/guardians and community members to participate in the task force. Meetings will occur often over the next few months during the afternoon.

5-8 Committee

The 5-8 committee is a working group of staff and Administrators representing all schools and curricular areas. The District is inviting 3-4 parents/guardians and community members to join the committee to add input on the innovative redesign of programming for the 5-8 middle school grade reconfiguration. The committee has standing meetings every other Friday at 1 p.m.

K-4 Committee

The K-4 committee charge is to develop a vision for what K-4 can be going forward. This exciting work will envision how to advance the Strategic Plan with transformative curriculum, student-driven designs, innovative thinking and professional collaboration. The District would like 3-4 parents/guardians to help guide the work. The committee meets monthly in the late afternoon.

Middle School Naming Committee

The last time a school was built and named in Lower Merion was the newly erected Harriton High School circa 1958. We will soon open another new school and the Board will look to a committee to offer suggestions. The District is inviting 5-7 parents/guardians and community members to participate. The committee is expected to meet 3-5 sessions during the business day over the next few months.

If you are interested in serving on the Task Force, 5-8 Committee, K-4 Committee, or Middle School Naming Committee please email NOVAKE@lmsd.org with a brief letter of interest and resume. You may also direct questions about committee work to this account.
