Lower Merion School District: Spring Planning Survey To Be Sent To All LMSD Families
Thank you for your partnership as we continue to review and refine our programs while following health guidelines.
2021-02-16
Tuesday evening, Feb. 16, 2021, LMSD Parents/Guardians (one per household) will receive an email from LMSD Surveys. This email will contain a personalized survey link. The short survey we are asking you to fill out will help us get a sense of how many families would be willing to send their children into our buildings for more in-person instruction, understanding that LMSD may have to make changes to our current Health and Safety Plan to accommodate more students in schools at the same time. These changes may include reducing physical distancing in classrooms and other school spaces, such as cafeterias, to less than six feet.

Other current protocols, such as masking, handwashing, bipolar ionization, asking families and staff to screen at home daily, and the ACE-IT assurance testing for staff will continue. In addition, the District is investigating other mitigation efforts including adding tented outdoor areas and expanding the ACE-IT testing to students.
We understand that it is difficult for families to make a firm commitment to a particular educational model without all of the details (especially concerning lunch and transportation) and without knowing how factors outside of LMSD's control – such as vaccine availability, incidence and positivity rates – will develop over time. Therefore, this is not a binding survey. But we hope this initial survey will generate useful data to help guide our ongoing planning. Depending on the results of this survey, other options – such as a continuation of the hybrid model for some students or expanded fully virtual models – may be made available.

The survey will remain open through the end of the weekend, closing at midnight on Sunday, February 21, 2021. If you do not receive an email with your personal survey link by Wednesday afternoon, please contact yarczoc@lmsd.org.
