Main Line Cops Cracking Down On DUI Next Weekend

DUI checkpoints and roving patrols will be out in force next weekend to combat impaired driving.

You should never even think about driving while under the influence of drugs or alcohol; doing so poses great danger you you and others. And one Main Line police department will be out in force next weekend cracking down on motorists who are on the roads while impaired.

According to Lower Merion Towns Police, from Friday, Sept. 8 to Sunday, Sept. 10, officers will have impaired driving checkpoints stationed throughout the township. Not only will checkpoints be in place, increased roving patrols will be on the streets looking for impaired drivers.

The weekend-long DUI enforcement initiative is part of a national effort to combat driving under the influence. The motto for the effort is simple: drive sober or get pulled over.

Next weekend's checkpoints are funded by a PennDOT grant.
