The night will open with a reception with artisan cheeses from The Farm at Doe Run and Seven Sisters Gougères, and a variety of appetizers, including Cured Fois Gras and BBQ Eel, Spicy Yellow Fin Tuna over Vegetable Maki; and Tempura Oysters, all of which will be paired with Twomey Sauvignon Blanc.
Dinner features Pineland Natural Farm Beef Carpaccio with chilled lobster, Vietnamese salad, peanuts, fresh black truffle and grilled truffle brioche, paired with Twomey Pinot Noir; Crispy Duck with foie gras crepinette and plum sauce, paired with Silver Oak Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon; and a Rye Waffle topped with Seven Sisters Ice Cream with roasted figs and candied walnuts, paired with Silver Oak Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.
"This fundraiser includes a fantastic collaboration of local farmers and artisan purveyors, along with some incredible wines from some of the best Napa Valley winemakers, and we’re all really excited to focus our time and energy benefitting the victims of the historic fire," Nectar Chef/Owner Patrick Feury said. "The wines pair beautifully with each dish, and we’re looking forward to gathering some of the region’s oenophiles to help the folks in ‘wine country’ who lost so much. The recent wildfires in California have caused so much devastation. Many winemakers have been displaced, and many homes and vineyards were destroyed."
Not only will the dinner raise money for the Napa Valley Community Foundation Fire Relief Fund, the restaurant will be donating proceeds from all of their California wine sales throughout November to the fund.
Nectar is located at 1091 Lancaster Ave., Berwyn.
