Main Line TD Banks Accepting Donations For Meal-Providing Group

Several TD Bank locations on the Main Line will be accepting monetary donations for a group that provides meals for people battling life threatening illnesses such as cancer, HIV/AIDS, and renal disease.

The banks – located at 401 Lancaster Ave., Haverford; 212 E Lancaster Ave., Wayne; and 200 W. Lancaster Ave., Devon – will be accepting donations for the Metropolitan Area Neighborhood Nutrition Alliance (MANNA) from Aug. 5 through Aug. 11 between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Through delivery of three meals a day, seven days a week, MANNA provides nourishment to people in need in Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey.

“Community support is key to providing Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) to our neighbors suffering from illnesses,” Sue Daugherty, RD, LDN, Chief Executive Officer of MANNA, said in a statement. “Volunteers are the heart of MANNA. Each year 4,200 caring neighbors chop, cook, dice and deliver meals – enabling MANNA to provide all meals and counseling at no cost to the client.”

Once the donation collection period ends, TD Bank will present a check to MANNA at 2 p.m. on Friday, August 11 at 420 N 20th St., Philadelphia.

Operating from Philadelphia, MANNA has a staff of more than 30, a full commercial kitchen and a fleet of trucks that bring warm and nourishing food to neighbors fighting illnesses in the region, delivering 95,000 meals per month.
