Man Falls Off Interstate 76 Bridge In Bala Cynwyd

BALA CYNWYD, PA — A man fell 30 to 40 feet off a bridge on Interstate 76 early Wednesday morning in Bala Cynwyd, according to local fire companies.

Numerous fire companies were called to Schuylkill Expressway at Belmont Avenue at about 1 a.m. after a worker fell off a bridge, according to the Belmont Hills Fire Company.

Responders from various fire companies worked together to package the victim and move him back up to the roadway using a stokes basket, ropes and ladders, the Penn Wynne Fire Company said.

More than 40 firefighters, policemen, and paramedics assisted in the rescue effort.
