Narberth Councilman Running For Mayor: Report

Bob Wegbreit will look to fill Mayor Tom Grady's seat when Grady's term expires.

With Narberth Borough Mayor Tom Grady choosing not to seek reelection after his term expires, one of the borough's councilmen will seek to fill the mayor's office.

According to Main Line Media News, councilman Bob Wegbreit will run for mayor in 2017.

Wegbreit is a 22-year resident of the borough and is currently the longest-serving member of the council.

The outlet reports Wegbreit listed three goals in his bid for mayor:

“Inspire, communicate and listen to residents to get them involved in our town and include their voices in Narberth decisions; provide a voice of reason and experience in how issues impact neighbors and the town as a whole; continue to move forward with community policing programs to enable Narberth to maintain its independent, small-town qualities."

Potential candidates have until March 7 to submit nominating petitions for the May 16 primary election, according to Main Line Media News.
