Narberth Home To Some Of PA's Smartest Residents: Study

NARBERTH, PA — A new study lays out which Pennsylvania ZIP codes have the highest concentration of post grads.

UnitedStatesZipCodes.org released details from their most recent study and several Main Line ZIP codes were prominently featured among the top 10 for having the most post graduate residents.

Among Main Line ZIPs to make the top ten was Narberth.

According to the website, 47.3 percent of residents in Narberth — 19072 — have post graduate degrees.

That makes Narberth the fourth-most educated ZIP in the state, according to the study.

Narberth actually fell this year in the ranks to No. 4. Last year it came in at No. 3.

Nearby, Bala Cynwyd — 19004 — has a 42.6 percent post grad population, ranking No. 12.

The website generated the ranks after the Census Bureau released the latest estimates from the American Community Survey data to estimate the percent with a post graduate degree.

Only ZIP codes with a low margin of error are included.

The Pennsylvania percent with a post graduate degree from the latest estimates is 12.5 percent and has risen 4.1 percent from 12 percent.

This year saw several big changes; 19102 — Philadelphia rose from No. 4 to No. 3, 19035 — Gladwyne rose from No. 9 to No. 7, 19103 — Philadelphia fell from No. 7 to No. 8, and 19333 — Devon rose from No. 17 to No. 9.
