Narberth Sees Slight Population Increase

U.S. Census data also reveals Lower Merion lost residents.

Over the past 10 years, Narberth's population increased, but by less than 50 people, according to data released Wednesday by the U.S. Census Bureau.

The overall borough population is listed at 4,282, up 49 from 2000. However, totals have dropped in Lower Merion Township by about 2,000 residents to 57,825.

In general, the white population decreased in both the borough and township, with increases in most minority demographics. Incremental increases were exhibited in many ethnicities, with those of mixed race and Asians seeing the most gains in Narberth.

In Montgomery County, the population rose 6.6 percent, while in Pennsylvania it rose 3.4 percent.
