Community members can sign up to be "makers" and "takers" for this twist on a potluck celebration. See details here.

NARBERTH, PA — Holding a celebratory potluck amid a pandemic requires some novel ideas to do so safely. And this year's NarBirthday is doing just that.

The Narberth Civic Association's annual NarBirthday Potluck Social will be held via Zoom this year due to the coronavirus and is changing up the traditional potluck style for a safe "community" dinner during the pandemic.

The event will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, March 14.

The public can submit their "Maker" offerings online here through 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, March 7. Offerings can also be submitted by calling the Narberth Civic Association at 484-995-3619.

Tell organizers what you're planning to offer using the Google Form at the link above. The form also asks what ingredients you’ll be using and more.

When making the dish, prepare enough for eight to 10 people. Those making food are asked to read the CDC guidelines for safe food preparation posted in the event discussion.

Then, you select your “Taker” choices between noon on Tuesday, March 9 and noon on Friday, March 12.

Those who want to take something will need to make something.

Anyone who needs help with pickups can request assistance by contacting the Narberth Civic Association, which can arrange bike delivery if you can’t make it on foot or by bike.

"Makers" and "Takers" should coordinate porch or doorstep pickups between 5 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 14. When doing pickups, residents are urged to wear masks and maintain social distancing.

Mayor Andrea Deutsch, Civic Association President Barbara Fortner, friends, and neighbors will be joining the event.
