Redevelopment to Affect Municipal Parking Lot

Township says temporary parking space will be provided.

The following was provided to Patch by Lower Merion Township:

Starting at the close of the business day on Friday, July 25, 2014, Lower Merion Township Municipal Parking Lot #15 (on Bala Avenue at Montgomery Avenue, Bala Cynwyd) will be closed for the redevelopment of the current BMW dealership. Construction is expected to take a year to 14 months.

During construction, temporary public parking will be available along Bala Avenue, and signs will be posted by the contractor indicating commuter and/or permit parking. (A graphic showing temporary parking and other spaces is below.) This interim parking (17 spaces) will accommodate permit parking. Overflow permit parking will be at the Bala Gym lot (49 Bala Ave.). Parking meters on Bala Avenue will accommodate current metered parking in Lot #15.
After construction is complete, a new public parking lot – with the same number of parking spaces as the existing Bala Avenue lot – will be available to the public. The new lot will be closer to Bala Avenue.
