Threat Made Toward Bala Cynwyd Middle School: Police

A student at the middle school allegedly made comments about harming himself and other students, according to Lower Merion Police.

BALA CYNWYD, PA – Lower Merion Police said a Bala Cynwyd Middle School student allegedly made a threat toward the school Tuesday.

According to police, a student made comments to others about hurting himself and other students.

The student in question was identified by police as well as the Lower Merion School District and "appropriate action" is being taken, police said.

"The students who reported these troubling remarks did the right thing in speaking up to school staff, and we encourage members of our school community to follow the “See Something, Say Something” model to ensure everyone’s safety," Dr. Mark Pellico, Interim Principal at Bala Cynwyd Middle School, said in an email to parents that went out Tuesday.

Bala Cynwyd Middle School's activities and schedule for Wednesday are going on as planned, police said.
