West Laurel Hill Cemetery Gets Grant For Light Replacement
With new energy efficient lights, West Laurel Hill Cemetery and Funeral Home in Bala Cynwyd will save nearly $4,000 in annual savings.
BALA CYNWYD, PA — West Laurel Hill Cemetery and Funeral Home in Bala Cynwyd, Lower Merion Township is will be saving some cash thanks to new lights installed after it was awarded grant funding.
State Rep. Pamela A. DeLissio, D-Montgomery/Phila., announced today a Small Business Advantage Grant awarded to the cemetery and funeral home.
The cemetery and funeral home got at $3,163 grant to replace florescent light bulbs in the basement of the funeral home with more energy efficient LED lights. The grant was given by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection.

"Anytime I have a chance to support local business with green initiatives like this, I am happy to do so," said DeLissio, who advised West Laurel Hill Cemetery and Funeral Home President and CEO Nancy Goldenberg that this category of grant was available for West Laurel Hill. "This organization has been a national leader in sustainability and is dedicated to reducing its carbon footprint, and I am pleased that they applied for and were awarded this grant."
The funding enabled the funeral home to replace 58 florescent light fixtures with 58 LED fixtures, substantially reducing the energy used.

West Laurel Hill said the 67.8 perceny energy reduction will equate to $3,904.89 in annual savings.
