Woman Hid Purse Down Pants In Alleged Bala Cynwyd Theft

A worker at a City Avenue store is accused of hiding a purse down her pants in an attempt to steal it.

BALA CYNWYD, PA – A woman working at a Bala Cynwyd store is accused of trying to steal a purse from the store by hiding it in her pants, according to authorities and reports.

Ishanae Walker-Claiborne, 21, of Philadelphia, was charged with retail theft, receiving stolen property, and related charges after a July 15 incident at Lord and Taylor on City Avenue in Bala Cynwyd.

Main Line Media News reports Walker-Claiborne tried to hide a $265 purse in her pants and leave the store with it.

Before she could make it out of the store with the purse, a security officer stopped her, the outlet reports.

She was released on $5,000 unsecured bail and will appear for a preliminary hearing on July 30.
