BWEF Recognized As An Educational Improvement Organization

The financial donations will be used by BWEF to support our faculty grants initiative.

Dec. 12, 2020

The Baldwin-Whitehall Educational Foundation has been recognized as an educational improvement organization by the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development. Educational improvement organizations have a proven history of supporting initiatives that integrate, supplement, and enhance educational programs that are not part of the school district's regular academic programming or curriculum. This opens new avenues for corporate giving to support our students. Thanks to this designation, businesses who pay taxes in Pennsylvania can reduce their tax burdens through donations that support the education at Baldwin-Whitehall School District. Businesses who already participate in the Educational Improvement Tax Credit [EITC] and/or the Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credit [OSTC] and support BWEF are eligible to receive tax credits of up to 75% of its contribution (up to $750,000) or 90% of its contribution if the same amount is donated in two consecutive tax years. The financial donations will be used by BWEF to support our faculty grants initiative. This allows us to achieve our mission of supporting excellence and innovation in the Baldwin-Whitehall School District. Businesses may direct their donation to a particular cause or initiative as desired.
