Caste Village's "Movie Under the Stars" Has Changed

Disney policies prohibit Tangled from being shown on Saturday. Shrek Forever After will be the new feature.

Recreation Director Kelly Joyce has announced that Whitehall is not allowed to show the movie Tangled at its Caste Village on Saturday at 9 p.m. Instead, Shrek Forever After will be screened that night.

"Over the weekend," Joyce said in a press release on Tuesday, "we were informed by a production company representing Disney Pictures that we are not permitted to show the movie Tangled on Saturday, June 11, due to their policies about public viewings when they are showing new Disney films in the box office.

"While we are very disappointed with this fact, we are required to abide by the rules and had to change our movie selection."

Joyce said that the rest of the evening's activities, which get under way at 7 p.m., will go on as planned. Vendors in the Caste Village parking lot will sell pizza, burgers, hot dogs, tacos, nachos, soft pretzels, funnel cakes, shaved ice, kettle corn and more. The event will also feature airbrush tattoos, balloon art and hair braiding.

The movie (free of charge to view) will be shown on a 30-foot inflatable screen.
