Pittsburgh Youth Symphony Orchestra Free Concert

In the shadow of their successful tour of Italy last summer, the musicians of thePittsburgh Youth Symphony Orchestra (PYSO) now look to Germany and Russia for musical inspiration. Music Director Lawrence Loh will lead the 95-member orchestra in the most recognizable symphony ever written—Beethoven's "Symphony No. 5." Shakespeare's famous characters will come to life in the "Romeo and Juliet Fantasy Overture" by Tchaikovsky. Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra Assistant Conductor Thomas Hong will conduct the rousing opener "Ruslan and Ludmilla" by Glinka. Now in its 65th season, the PYSO continues its tradition of presenting free concerts at Heinz Hall. This concert is free, but tickets are still required for admission. Click here to download FREE tickets.
