Plea Deal In Works For Whitehall Woman's Accused Killer?
Douglas Berry, stands accused of murdering Elizabeth Wisenfeld
PITTSBURGH, PA - A handyman charged with murdering a Whitehall woman who vanished in April waived his right to a preliminary hearing Friday. Douglas Berry, 48, is charged with homicide in the death of Elizabeth Wisenfeld, 67.
Berry also has been charged with burglary, access device fraud, receiving stolen property and two counts of theft. Allegheny County District Attorney Stephen Zappala has said that money appears to be the motive for the slaying.
WTAE-TV reported that both the prosecution and defense alluded to a deal that had been reached regarding Berry during the hearing, but neither provided details.
