Pittsburgh-Area Teacher Charged In Student Sexting Case
The female teacher and teen student allegedly exchanged more than 3,700 messages, authorities said.
BEAVER FALLS, PA — A Pittsburgh-area high school teacher is facing multiple charges for allegedly sexting with a 16-year-old student.
According to court records, Sara Jo Massart, 24, a teacher in the Big Beaver Falls Area School District is charged with unlawful conduct with a minor/sexual servitude; unlawful conduct with a minor- corruption of minors with sexual contact; and corruption of minors - defendant age 18 or above; and criminal use of a communication facility.
Those all are felony counts. Massa, 24, of Butler, also faces a misdemeanor corruption of minors charge.

WTAE-TV reported that authorities said more than 3,700 messages were exchanged between the Massa and the student. Massa also allegedly sent 20 to 30 photos of herself clad in lingerie to the teen.
The school district issued the following statement via Facebook:

"The Big Beaver Falls Area School District is aware of charges involving a district employee.
The District immediately took appropriate action, notified the proper authorities, and is fully cooperating with the ongoing investigation. The employee has been removed from duties involving students.
The district will not tolerate any conduct that compromises the safety or well-being of students and will take all appropriate action consistent with the law and district policy.
Because this is an active investigation and confidential personnel matter, the District cannot comment further."
Massa faces a preliminary hearing on Sept. 1.
