1. ‘A wonderful place.' Bellefonte community says goodbye to beloved elementary school (centredaily.com) — Bellefonte families just said an emotional goodbye to Benner Elementary, which closed alongside Bellefonte Elementary at the end of this school year as the district prepares to open a new, larger Bellefonte Elementary on Airport Road this fall. Community members packed the halls for a farewell event, watched a locally produced documentary, and now await school board decisions on how the old buildings will be reused.

Tuesday PA Environment & Energy Articles - NewsClips: 6.2.26 (blogspot.com) — Bellefonte residents can join a free Chesapeake Bay Foundation “Creekside Connections” stream-buffer tour and family-friendly program at Little Fishing Creek on June 4 from 5–8 p.m. The statewide roundup also highlights other June environmental meetings, workshops, and policy discussions that may interest Centre County conservation-minded neighbors.
3. 8 WPIAL baseball teams learn sites, times for PIAA quarterfinals (centredaily.com) — Bellefonte High’s baseball team rolled past Elizabeth Forward 11-1 to reach the PIAA Class 4A quarterfinals, where they’ll face Archbishop Wood in Hershey’s Memorial Field. The roundup also lists times and sites for all state quarterfinal matchups involving WPIAL teams across every classification.
4. Dozens respond to early-morning Centre County house fire (wtaj.com) — Bellefonte firefighters were among roughly 30 responders called to a serious early-morning house fire on Matilda Avenue in College Township, where a long-vacant home was ultimately deemed uninhabitable. Crews, including Alpha, Boalsburg, and Bellefonte departments, battled a basement fire that spread upward and was difficult to access, and the Centre Region Fire Marshal is now investigating the cause.
