BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA —First Responders Field, a long-time project that is undergoing its transformation from the UGH Club, is getting $1 million in state funding toward the park's renovations.

State Rep. Kathleen "K.C." Tomlinson announced that Bensalem Township is getting the Commonwealth Financing Authority grant for the reconstruction of First Responders Field. Tomlinson said she helped secure the funding.

“First Responders Field is at the heart of our district and the process to obtain funding for it has been in motion since former state Sen. Tommy Tomlinson was in office,” said Tomlinson, who represents the 18th Legislative District. "I look forward to finally seeing the park’s renovations come to life. It will be a great opportunity for our community and visitors to enjoy.”

In mid-November, township supervisors voted to spare the former UGH Club from future residential and commercial development by preserving 15 acres.
