$169M Budget, 6,400 Students Overseen By Bensalem School Board

BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA —With January tapped as “School Director Recognition Month” in Pennsylvania, the Bensalem Township School District is saluting its nine elected school board members.

The Bensalem Township School Board is President Eric Price, Vice President; Kim J. Rivera and directors Marc Cohen, Jack W. Meyer, Heather D. Nicholas, Jiten Patel, Sheldon D. Per, Joseph A. Pettyjohn; and Michael Stewart.

School board members devote more than 20 hours each month to "the challenging and complex responsibilities of school business, including voting on budgets, adopting policy, and conducting comprehensive planning."

"They are our neighbors, friends, community leaders, parents at your school, and engaged senior citizens," the district said.

The school directors oversee a $169 million-dollar budget providing a quality education for the more than 6,400 students in our nine schools staffed by 452 teachers, 64 administrative employees, and 460 full and part-time support personnel.

"During this month of recognition, please take a moment and show your gratitude for school directors’ time, dedication, and effort year-round. The job they do is necessary to ensure our schools remain a pathway to a promising future. We thank them for advocating on behalf of our collective interest, and most importantly, for making the success of our children their priority," the district said.
