Victim IDed In Bensalem Pedestrian Death
The man was hit twice early Wednesday morning while in a crosswalk trying to get to the 7-Eleven at Street Road and Brookwood Drive.
BENSALEM, PA — Police in Bensalem have identified the man who was hit by two vehicles and killed while walking across Street Road on Wednesday.
The victim was Richard Hierholzer, 58, of Bensalem, police Deputy Director of Public Safety William McVey said Thursday. Hierholzer's family has been notified, McVey said.
Police also said Thursday that no charges were expected to be filed in the case, despite one of the two drivers who struck Hierholzer initially driving away from the scene.

Police had issued an alert Wednesday for the second driver — a woman who they said pulled over after striking the man Wednesday morning, but then drove away after being seen screaming and making a phone call. The woman had been located by Thursday morning, police said.
Police were called at 5:21 a.m. to the intersection of Street Road and Brookwood Drive. There, police say, Hierholzer was walking in the crosswalk attempting to get to the nearby 7-Eleven when he was hit by a vehicle traveling east on Street Road.

Police say the Hierholzer had a red light and the vehicle's driver had a green signal when he struck the man. That driver stopped and cooperated with police.
But then, Hierholzer was hit by another passing vehicle on Street Road. That vehicle pulled into the parking lot of First Stop Tobacco at 1606 Street Rd. and a woman who was driving was seen screaming and making a phone call, according to police.
She then got back into her vehicle and left the scene, police say.
Neither alcohol nor drugs appeared to be a factor in the crash, police said.
